BUsiness PROCESS OUTSOURCING

For many years, the outsourcing of functions such as payroll and employee benefits administration has been fairly common and widely accepted.  In recent years, vendors have increased their expertise and technology advancements have allowed greater efficiency gains - this has resulted in an increased viability of outsourcing other business processes, such as call centers, human resources, IT services, or accounting to name a few.

Implicit with business process outsourcing (BPO), and the transfer of responsibility of executing these business processes, is the sharing and/or transfer of the client's relevant data to the vendor.  For example, for a vendor to be able to assume payroll processing responsibilities, the client must provide the highly-sensitive payroll related data.

Business Challenges
  • As stewards the clients' data, BPO vendors have a paramount responsibility to protecting their clients' data.  This includes protecting the data during the transmission as well as protecting and encrypting the data at rest.
  • A single breach will significantly impact a vendor's reputation and their ability to earn the trust of their existing or potential clients, impacting the future success of their business.
  • BPO vendors will have heterogeneous environments as they meet varying client business and technology requirements using various platforms.  Also, they may assume responsibility for legacy clients' systems either during a transitional period or for a more permanent arrangement.
  • In most cases, BPO vendors utilize offshore facilities in order to minimize costs.  These further emphasize the increased need for security measures as data transfers across country borders.
  • In some cases, offshore locations may not provide significant legal protection for data security breaches, further emphasizing the need for the BPO vendor to implement additional security measures to prevent data security breaches.
  • Multi-national clients will operate in various countries with various data privacy regulations.  While legal requirements will differ from country to country, in some cases, in-country statutory may require the encryption of data at rest.
Ingrian Solution

Ingrian Networks® offers BPO vendors a scalable, cost-effective way to secure sensitive data in heterogeneous environments from internal and external threats and comply with a range of data privacy regulations for data-at-rest encryption.  Ingrian offers an unrivaled combination of features that enable organizations to implement encryption with unrivaled security, manageability, and performance. As a result, BPO vendors can cost-effectively implement increased security provisions, while also adding what could be a key differentiator within the competitive landscape.

Featuring a dedicated security appliance and specialized software, Ingrian DataSecure® Platforms enable organizations to encrypt data in applications and databases. As a result, organizations can ensure that critical data—such as Social Security Numbers, Names, Home Addresses, Birthdates, Salaries, Bank Accounts and other personally identifiable information—is always secured.

DataSecure® platforms are the only appliance-based encryption solutions available today that feature granular, field-level encryption capabilities and that can be integrated at the Web server, application server, or database layer. In addition, DataSecure platforms centralize cryptographic processing, key and policy management, and security administration, which yield tremendous advantages in terms of security, scalability, and manageability. top
